Belview Rd. – Will be closed from Pelt Ln. to Kimberly Dr. on Wednesday, Aug. 3rd at 7:00 AM until Thursday, Aug. 4th at 3:00 PM.  If weather permits, the Vernon Parish Police Jury will be doing routine road maintenance.

Anyone living on this road should make the necessary arrangements.

INVITATION FOR COMMENTS ON THE REGIONAL/LOCAL WORKFORCE PLAN
OF THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (LWDB 51) AND ITS PARTNERS

Serving the residents of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Vernon Parishes

The Workforce Development Board is in the process of preparing and submitting a four‐year
Regional/Local Plan to Governor John Bel Edwards to provide information to the public on the
utilization of the funds provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
for Adults, Dislocated Workers and Youth. The essence of the Plan includes (1) Strategic
elements such as Economic and Workforce Development Activities, Vision and Goals, and local
strategy. (2) Operational Elements including the implementation of the strategy as well as the
operating systems and policies. (3) Coordination with Combined Plan Programs including core
partners including WIOA Adult & Dislocated Workers, WIOA Youth, Wagner Peyser, Adult
Education & Literacy and Rehabilitation Services and additional partners for a Combined Plan
including Career and Technical Education (Sowela), Temporary Aid to Needy Families &
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Community Services Block Grant
(CSBG). A memorandum of Understanding will be developed between all partners outlining the
delivery of services in the One Stop Center as well as the sharing of funds earmarked to serve
eligible populations. (4) Common Assurances and (5) Program specific State Plan Requirements for Core Programs listed above.

The public is invited to comment on any aspect of the Plan during its development. Comments
may be emailed to Ms. Stephanie Seemion at sseemion@lwia51.com for consideration on its
impact on the Planning for the delivery of services to assist individuals obtain employment as
well as to assist employers to obtain a trained workforce.

The Plan is due to the Louisiana Workforce Commission by June 15, 2016. Beginning today, this will provide the required 30 day comment period for the public to comment on the
Regional/Local Workforce Development Plan for Region V.
