The Police Jury owns and maintains the following recreational facilities:
- Bivens Landing Boat Launch
- Hickory Ridge Recreational Park (overnight camping)
- Methodist Landing Recreational Park (overnight camping)
- Vernon Lake Spillway Park
- Vernon Parish Arena
- VFW Landing Boat Launch
The Police Jury assists the West Louisiana Forestry Festival Association, Inc. in operating and maintaining the Vernon Parish Fairgrounds.
The Police Jury hosts the following events:
- MayFest: Louisiana No Man’s Land Legends & Outlaws Music Festival
- MayFest Legends and Outlaws Pageant
