{"id":593,"date":"2016-05-17T21:19:17","date_gmt":"2016-05-17T21:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vppjla.com\/?p=593"},"modified":"2016-05-17T21:21:05","modified_gmt":"2016-05-17T21:21:05","slug":"invitation-for-comments-on-the-regionallocal-workforce-plan-of-the-workforce-development-board-lwdb-51-and-its-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.vppjla.com\/?p=593","title":{"rendered":"INVITATION FOR COMMENTS ON THE REGIONAL\/LOCAL WORKFORCE PLAN OF THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (LWDB 51) AND ITS PARTNERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>INVITATION FOR COMMENTS ON THE REGIONAL\/LOCAL WORKFORCE PLAN<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>OF THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (LWDB 51) AND ITS PARTNERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Serving the residents of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Vernon Parishes<\/p>\n<p>The Workforce Development Board is in the process of preparing and submitting a four\u2010year<br \/>\nRegional\/Local Plan to Governor John Bel Edwards to provide information to the public on the<br \/>\nutilization of the funds provided through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)<br \/>\nfor Adults, Dislocated Workers and Youth. The essence of the Plan includes (1) Strategic<br \/>\nelements such as Economic and Workforce Development Activities, Vision and Goals, and local<br \/>\nstrategy. (2) Operational Elements including the implementation of the strategy as well as the<br \/>\noperating systems and policies. (3) Coordination with Combined Plan Programs including core<br \/>\npartners including WIOA Adult &amp; Dislocated Workers, WIOA Youth, Wagner Peyser, Adult<br \/>\nEducation &amp; Literacy and Rehabilitation Services and additional partners for a Combined Plan<br \/>\nincluding Career and Technical Education (Sowela), Temporary Aid to Needy Families &amp;<br \/>\nSupplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and Community Services Block Grant<br \/>\n(CSBG). A memorandum of Understanding will be developed between all partners outlining the<br \/>\ndelivery of services in the One Stop Center as well as the sharing of funds earmarked to serve<br \/>\neligible populations. (4) Common Assurances and (5) Program specific State Plan Requirements\u00a0for Core Programs listed above.<\/p>\n<p>The public is invited to comment on any aspect of the Plan during its development. Comments<br \/>\nmay be emailed to Ms. Stephanie Seemion at sseemion@lwia51.com for consideration on its<br \/>\nimpact on the Planning for the delivery of services to assist individuals obtain employment as<br \/>\nwell as to assist employers to obtain a trained workforce.<\/p>\n<p>The Plan is due to the Louisiana Workforce Commission by June 15, 2016.
