The Vernon Parish Police Jury requires Building Permits for all new construction in Vernon Parish.<\/p>\n

Effective 3\/18\/2025, the Vernon Parish Police Jury has joined the Rapides Area Parish Planning Commission (RAPC) for Building Permits and Building Code Enforcement.<\/p>\n

PERMITS REQUIRED FOR VERNON PARISH<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

#1 \u2013 911 PERMIT:<\/u> (337)<\/strong> 238-9911<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get this permit number from the E911 office. Call first for information. As of October 1, 2014, there will be a fee for this permit.\u00a0\u00a0 Cash and personal checks are not<\/strong><\/u> accepted<\/strong>. Money orders and debit\/credit cards are<\/u> accepted<\/strong>. An actual 911 address will not be assigned to you until your front door is in place.<\/p>\n

#2 \u2013 SEWER PERMIT<\/u>: (337) 238-6410 ext. 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get this permit from the Vernon Parish Health Unit located next to Byrd Hospital in Leesville. Office Hours are 8:30 am \u2013 4:00 pm. You will need an original<\/u> legal description of the property with a seal on it from the Clerk of Courts.\u00a0 The property owner must get the permit OR <\/strong>sign Designated Agent Form.<\/p>\n

#3 \u2013 BUILDING PERMIT:<\/u> (337) 404-4081<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get this permit from Building Inspection Group located at 512 S. 3rd Street – across the street from the Leesville Farmer’s Market.\u00a0 Please bring the above permits and a copy of your legal description from the Tax Assessor\u2019s office\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad<\/u><\/strong>.\u00a0 If building a house, bring 2<\/strong><\/u> sets<\/u> of house plans and a Manual J effective January 1,\u00a02015.\u00a0 There is a fee for this permit.
